Lynne Oliver has had a lifetime’s involvement with various schools of yoga and has refined her learning into a fun and gentle methodology to suit novices and practitioners alike. Use of breath awareness in safe postures allows stiffness and tension to dissipate. This process can often achieve improvements beyond established medicine or in place of surgery, although results are a function of the individual situation.
Lynne has a sunny disposition and an infectious sense of humour. She has an intuitive bearing and a wide understanding of the effects of emotional upheaval on the bodily state. Her yoga classes are renowned for her insights as well as her delivery and diction, thanks to the voice training she has an intuitive bearing and a wide understanding of the damage often sustained by the physical body through stress.
Lynne originally trained as an opera singer at the Royal Academy but became a successful model instead. She married Formula 1 driver, Jackie Oliver and endured the emotional strain of seeing many friends killed on the circuit. While in California she took up yoga and has been studying, practising and teaching now for 30 years. Her personal life has given her a great understanding of the effects of life stresses and their impact on the body. Her second marriage, to guitarist Bruce Welch of “The Shadows” was dissolved in 1989
Among her other attributes, Lynne is also a Professional Member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, a qualified Aquarobics instructor, and a Member of the Faculty of Physiatrics. Check out her DVD teaching series, Yoga in Hawaii
